Here is a short overview of changes being made as we begin worshipping together again in the church building.
ENTERING THE BUILDING. Please make use of the main entrances on the southeast and east side of the buildings. We are asking that people do not go downstairs. Do not linger in the lobby, but come to the sanctuary and find a seat that allows you (and your family) to social distance yourself.
HOSPITALITY. No coffee, hot chocolate, or food will be served. Greeters will welcome with a wave.
FAMILY SERVICES. For the current season, we are asking families to sit together during the service. No nursery, children, or teen classes are being offered at this time. Activities will be included to assist children and teens engage in the service.
OFFERINGS. Offering plates will be set on a table by the sound booth for you to place your offerings in. Please use an offering envelope to help make sure your contributions are properly credited to you.
SERVICE LENGTH. We will strive to keep the service to one hour in length.
AFTER SERVICE IS OVER. Rather than everyone leaving at the same time, you will be dismissed in sections. Please do not linger in the lobby, but head right to your car and leave.
PRECAUTIONS. Please practice social distancing and other practices recommended by public health officials. Hand sanitizer is placed at various locations. If you can avoid using the restroom while in the building, please do so to limit contact with commonly touched surfaces.
COMFORT LEVEL. If you are not comfortable with attending services due to health concerns for yourself, your family, coworkers, or others, please do not come. We will continue to offer spiritual encouragement online through our website.
PRECAUTIONS. If you are not feeling well or think you may have been exposed, please stay home.
Thanks for your understanding, patience, and prayers as we try to navigate these times with faith and wisdom. If you have any questions or concern, please contact Pastor Rich.
Though churches are being allowed to meet, we have decided not to reopen at this time. Church leadership has deemed it the wisest course in light of current conditions. We will continue to meet online for the time being. Please join us on this website or on Facebook at 10:30 on Sunday mornings.
Many of our groups are meeting through the video conferencing site Zoom. If you would like to be a part of any of these, please use GET IN TOUCH on the contact tab or email the church at email@example.com. These groups include:
Adult Sunday School Class on Sundays at 9:00 am
Moms in Prayer on Tuesdays at 8:30 am
Men's Bible Study on Wednesdays at 6:00 am
Please take advantage of these opportunities to connect during the COVID-19 situation.
I would encourage you to take advantage of other online resources, such as RightNowMedia. Here is the sign up link for this: https://www.rightnowmedia.org/Account/Invite/FriendshipAssembly.

Updates will occur regularly by email, Facebook, and the church’s website. If you have not already liked the church’s Facebook page, please do so to make it easier to be notified of new updates. Our page is FriendshipAssembly (https://www.facebook.com/friendshipassembly).
Some have asked about giving while services are cancelled. You can mail a check to the church (1700 Central Avenue, Harwarden, IA 51023) or drop an offering off by the church during office hours (M-Th, 9-noon, 1-4). Online giving is also available. Go to the GIVE tab on the main menu of the website.
Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have a need over the next few weeks. Call to schedule an appointment or a home visit. I can be reached at 641-895-0965 (cell) or 712-551-4294 (church).
Make sure to care for one another in the days ahead. Let’s be the family of God to one another and the ambassadors of Christ to those around us.
God is bigger than the current crisis. Keep trusting God and loving others.
God bless you and yours.
Friendship Assembly of God is made up of people from different backgrounds and stories discovering the joy of belonging to Jesus Christ as members of His body, the Church.
Come join us this Sunday.
